With lockdown lifted in some parts of the country, we do see a ray of hope and wish for these troubled times to end. The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 that was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak will now be conducted on July 26, 2020 as announced by the HRD Minister.
Students should not worry anymore and utilize this time for directed preparation for the most coveted entrance examination for medical aspirants and focus on critical concepts in order to close the learning gaps if any.
Biology is considered a high scoring subject by the medical aspirants. According to NEET 2019 analysis, the Biology section was of moderate difficulty level with most of the questions based on the NCERT syllabus. To ace this section, along with a strong conceptual understanding, intense practice of diagram based questions is a must.
Here are a few insights into the exam pattern as well as some key points that can help students to give an edge to their preparation plan.
EXAM PATTERN
The NEET (UG) 2020 will consist of a total of 180 Multiple Choice Questions with four options and single correct answer and will be of 720 marks. In the Biology section, 90 questions will be asked from Class XI & XII NCERT Syllabus. For each correct answer, a candidate will get four marks and for each wrong answer, one mark will be deducted from the total score.
