Most of the students were eagerly waiting for the JEE Main and NEET Exam dates as all the exams were postponed due to the pandemic situation but now you don’t have to wait much longer. Yeah, you read right! HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank confirmed on Tuesday that the Engineering entrance examination (JEE Main) will be conducted from July 18-23, while the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be conducted on July 26 for admission to medical schools.
HRD Minister interacts with Students
Students conducted a webinar with the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and said during the webinar, “JEE Main will take place on July 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd, while NEET will take place on July 26th. He continued his declaration. The JEE Advanced 2020 exams for admissions into the various IIT Colleges will be conducted on August 23rd. JEE Advanced exam is conducted for admissions to various Indian Institute of Technology colleges. Top 250,000 rank holders from JEE Main examinations are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. Earlier in the week, the HRD Minister had announced the JEE Main 2020 exam dates which will be conducted in the month of July. And now the JEE Advanced dates have also been revealed.
For the next academic year, students will have to learn a reduced syllabus. The HRD minister informed that the syllabus will be reduced for the upcoming academic session as students have lost valuable academic time. He informed that CBSE will assess the “loss of instructional time” for a “proportionate reduction” in the curriculum. If the syllabus of classes 12 and 11 is reduced then the JEE Main and NEET 2021 will be held on the reduced syllabus. This suggestion was first made by Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia.
NTA to extend Online application form Editing option
Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency had announced to extend the online application form editing option and allowed candidates to choose the exam center of their choice in order to minimise any commute for the examinees and their parents. The option is expected to be extended further.
Doubt session with Students
During the discussion, the Minister also answered queries raised by students including infrastructural issues, no availability of books, fee hike. This was the second live session hosted by HRD Minister. He had earlier this month held a live session with parents and responded to their queries.
“Discussing the CBSE board examination so senior HED official reported that the schedule for pending Class X and Class XII Board exams and dates is likely to be released on Thursday. In his statement, he said, “The exams are likely to be conducted in the first and the second week of July, ahead of the JEE and NEET-UG.”
An estimation was made of the students who had enrolled for the exams. This year, approximately 15 lakh students have registered for NEET, while more than 9 lakh have registered for JEE (Main) which is the JEE (Advanced) qualifying examination for IITs admission.
