NEET 2018 result for the exam scheduled to be conducted on May 06, 2018 will be released on June 05, 2018. NEET 2018 is a single stage and single window exam. It is conducted by CBSE, for admission into MBBS/BDS undergraduate courses in popular and prestigious medical colleges across the country. All admissions to MBBS/BDS Courses within respective categories will be done solely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in NEET 2018. Only those candidates who qualify the NEET 2018 Exam will be included in the NEET 2018 Merit List and will be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses. To qualify NEET 2018 Exam, the student needs to score marks equal or greater than the marks corresponding to the qualifying cut off percentile.
The NEET 2018 result/scorecard will show your NEET All India Rank, total marks, percentile score along with your overall rank and category rank. After the declaration of NEET 2018 result, candidates can download the marks cum rank sheet/rank letter from the website www.cbseneet.nic.in. These documents will also be made available in DigiLocker- www. digilocker.gov.in.

NEET 2018 Exam Paper Pattern and marking scheme
- The NEET 2018 Exam will have question papers in 11 different languages
- There will be 180 questions, to be attempted in the duration of three hours
- Each correct response will add 4 marks to your score and each incorrect response will deduct 1 mark.
- More than one answer indicated in a question will be considered as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.
- The highest marks for NEET 2018 are 720.
NEET 2018 Cut Off
- To be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, it is necessary for a candidate to obtain marks corresponding to the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET 2018.
What is percentile?
The percentage is calculated according to the highest/total marks, while percentile is calculated according to the highest marks scored in the exam, by the topper.
So, if you score 600 marks
Your percentage will be 600/720*100 (720 is the highest marks/total marks in NEET 2018)
Suppose the marks of NEET 2018 Topper is 700
Then your percentile will be 600/700*100
- Candidates qualifying NEET would be eligible for All India Quota and other quotas under the State Governments/Institutes and Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC & AFMC including BHU & AMU
- No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as prescribed by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS Courses in the said academic year

Display of OMR Sheet
- The CBSE will give you a chance to view your OMR and your recorded responses.
- You will also be given an opportunity to submit a representation against OMR grading at a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 1000 per answer challenged
- Representations made by the candidates against the OMR grading will be verified by the CBSE from the actual record and the same will be updated in the data if challenge is found correct.
- However, no intimation in this regard will be sent to the individual candidate.
- All candidates are advised to remain in touch with the website www.cbseneet.nic.in for viewing and downloading of his/her answer sheet and responses captured by the machines.
Display of answer key for the challenge:
- The CBSE will display Answer Key on its website cbseneet.nic.in. Students can challenge the answer key in case of any doubt in the answer.
- Candidates will be given an opportunity to make an online challenge against the Answer Key on payment of non-refundable processing fees of Rs.1000/- per answer challenged.
- Challenges made by the candidates will be verified by the CBSE with the help of its subject experts.
- If found correct, the answer key will be revised accordingly. Based on the revised Answer Key, the result will be prepared and declared.
- Students need to remain in touch with the CBSE NEET website to know the date of display of answer key.
- The key finalized after the challenge will be final.
To get an idea of their expected scores in NEET 2018, candidates can also take help of Aakash NEET 2018 Answer Key. It will give them an overview of the correct answers, with the help of which they will be able to challenge wrong answers.
NEET 2018 Result
- After the conduct of the NEET 2018 Exam on 6 May 2018, the results will be declared on the CBSE NEET website on 5 June 2018.
- The candidates can download the Result, Marks cum Rank Sheet/Rank Letter from the website www.cbseneet.nic.in. These documents will also be made available in DigiLocker- www. digilocker.gov.in
Admission and Reservation
No category wise result sheet will be prepared. An All India Merit List of the qualified candidates will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the NEET 2018. This Merit List will be the basis for admissions to MBBS/BDS courses, by following the already existing reservation policy.
Reservation of seats in Government Medical Colleges under 15% All India Quota
- 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates
- 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates
- 27% seats as per Central Act are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates only in Central Educational Institutions.
Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC
- CBSE will post the result on the website as soon as it is prepared and thereafter candidates may download the Result Sheets.
- All Candidates appearing for NEET (UG)–2018 must remain in touch with the websites of CBSE, MOHFW, Medical Counselling Committee (www.mcc.nic.in) and Participating States/Universities/ Institutions till the conclusion of the final round of Counselling.

Rules for re-checking/re-evaluation of answer sheets
(a) The machine-gradable answer sheets are evaluated with extreme care and are repeatedly scrutinized.
(b) There is no provision for re-checking/re-evaluation of the answer sheets.
(c) No correspondence in this regard will be entertained
This is because of the following reasons:
- The candidates have been given an opportunity to make the representation on the OMR gradation of their OMR sheets and also given an opportunity to challenge the answer in case of any doubt.
- The OMRs are machine gradable, which are being evaluated through specific software impartial to all.
NEET 2018 Counselling
The Role and responsibility of CBSE is limited to conduct of exam, declaration of result and providing the All India Rank to the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for counselling of 15% All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC & AFMC including BHU & AMU and providing the result to the State Counselling Authorities and Admitting Institutions.
- The students need to follow the concerned websites for any announcement on admission process and rules.
- During counseling, the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, various documents, etc. of the eligible candidates will be checked and verified as per norms specified by the respective authorities and Medical/Dental Colleges.
- A list of the successful candidates in order of All India Rank (AIR) based on the score obtained in the examination will be prepared by the CBSE.
The Inter-se-Merit of Candidates for Tie-breaking
In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the NEET (UG) – 2018, the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as follows:
(a) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test
(b) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the Test
(c) Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the Test
(d) Candidates older in age to be preferred
- Merit List for 15% All India Quota
- The rank for 15% All India Quota will be mentioned in the NEET 2018 Result Card.
- It will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services.
- Information for online counselling would only be available on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website
- A student can participate in 15% All India quota counseling for admission in Central Institutions including AFMC, ESI, BHU, AMU and Deemed Universities
- Admission to Deemed Universities/Central Universities/seats of ESIC including BHU and AMU will be conducted by DGHS and reservation policy will be as per rules and regulations of the concerned University or Institution.
- Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
- Counselling for AFMC Pune
- Candidates who apply for NEET 2018 and also seeking admission in AFMC will also have to apply to AFMC on www.afmc.nic.in / www.afmcdg1d.gov.in.
- The short-listed candidates will be required to appear for a second stage Screening Test conducted by AFMC.
- Candidates are advised to contact AFMC for further and exact details. The counselling will be conducted by DGHS.
- Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats
- Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons with Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.
- Students from J & K need to submit a self-declaration form to take part in 15% All India Quota Counselling. Andhra Pradesh has recently decided to join and contribute for 15% All India Quota Counselling.
- Merit List for 85% State Quota
(a) CBSE will provide All India Rank to the DGHS, Ministry of Health, Family Welfare, Govt of India and to the State Admitting Authorities.
(b) Admitting Authorities will invite applications for Counselling and merit list shall be drawn in respective categories based on All India Rank by the Admitting Authorities subject to their applicable rules.
