For the first time ever, the first three rounds of AIIMS MBBS 2018 Counselling was held in the online mode. The open round of counselling is expected to be conducted on August 21, 2018, and candidates need to be registered online. AIIMS 2018 Open Round has been started from 10th August 2018 and will be conducted till August 16th, 2018 till 5.00 PM. The number of seats available for counselling will be displayed on August 20, 2018.
The first round of counselling started on June 28, 2018, from 5.00 PM onwards till June 29, 2018. The result of the first round of seat allotment was published on July 2, 2018. The second round of counseling started on July 11 and was held till July 13 while the third round of counseling was conducted from July 25 to July 27, 2018. The candidates who did not participate in the first round of counselling were not eligible for the second and third rounds of counselling.
The online AIIMS counselling started on June 23, 2018 as a mock counselling round for which the candidates were required to register. The result of the mock round of counselling was released on June 27,2018 which gave candidates an idea about the AIIMS institute they would get seat into. Online AIIMS counselling 2018 is likely to be held in four rounds, namely first, second, third online counselling, followed by an open round counselling. With AIIMS, New Delhi conducting the counselling 2018 for the first time in online mode, the authorities have released a list of FAQs and user manual to make the counselling process simple.
In all possibilities, AIIMS MBBS 2018 online counselling process will include one-time online registration, exercising of choice preferences amongst the various institutions, allocation of seats and acceptance/rejection of seat by the candidate.
Candidates who have been allocated a seat are required to deposit their original certificates and fee at the allotted institution.

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Counselling for Open Round
The schedule of the open round of counselling has been changed. AIIMS, New Delhi will start the open round of counselling along with the registration process. It is compulsory for candidates to register for the counselling process if they wish to participate in the open round of counselling. The registration process has begun from August 10 and will be conducted till August 16, 2018. All those candidates who have qualified the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam are eligible to participate in the open round of counselling. All those who will successfully register will be required to report at Jawaharlal Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi on August 21 and most likely on August 22 as well.

*Registration for Open Round of Seat Allocation/ Counselling is mandatory. Desirous Candidates are required to Register on time and not wait until the last moment to avoid missing out.
AIIMS 2018 Cutoff
Students who have given the exam will have to secure a minimum cutoff in the exam to be eligible for the counselling process. Only then the student will be eligible for the online allotment process. The minimum cutoff for different categories are:
- General: 50%
- OBC: 45%
- SC/ST: 40%
AIIMS Counselling Procedure 2018
The complete details of AIIMS MBBS 2018 Counselling procedure are as follows:
- Candidates, who want to get a seat in the AIIMS Institution have to participate for counselling on the basis of rank & category.
- There is a common counselling for all AIIMS including New Delhi, Rishikesh, Bhopal, Kanpur, Patna, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar & Raipur.
- At the time of counselling, aspirants have to fill in their choice of college.
- In the counselling procedure, the seats are filled by open (UR/General) candidates first.
- Candidates belonging to UR, SC, ST or OBC category will be called for counselling on the basis of merit.
- Candidates of the reserved category can get an unreserved seat under the open category counselling in any institutions & they opt for the other institution of their choice in reserved category seat counselling, then the seat that is vacant is filled by the candidates belonging to the same category in order of the merit list.
- Seats are allotted to the candidates as per the filled choices, rank and availability of seats.
Distribution of Seats
The following Institutes will be participating in the AIIMS 2018 counselling along with the number of seats in each:
- AIIMS, New Delhi – 107 seats
- AIIMS, Bhopal – 100 seats
- AIIMS Bhubaneshwar – 100 seats
- AIIMS, Guntur – 50 seats
- AIIMS, Jodhpur – 100 seats
- AIIMS, Nagpur – 50 seats
- AIIMS, Patna – 100 seats
- AIIMS, Raipur – 100 seats
- AIIMS, Rishikesh – 100 seats
AIIMS MBBS Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate applying for AIIMS must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2018.
- To fulfill the AIIMS MBBS 2018 eligibility criteria, the candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. The minimum aggregate of the marks General and OBC candidates need to have scored in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in their Class 12 or HSC examination must be 60%.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OPH category should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in these four subjects in their Class 12 or HSC examination.
- Candidates with CGPA grades only will have to apply the conversion factor in the AIIMS MBBS 2018 application form. The Conversion Factor should be as approved by their respective Examination Boards.
- Foreign candidates nominated by the Government of India are required to have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination.
AIIMS 2018 Tie-Breaking Criteria
During the time of preparation of merit list, it might be possible that two students have secured the same percentile in the AIIMS 2018. In this case, the merit of the student will be prepared according to the tie-breaking criteria set up by AIIMS:
- Out of the two candidates, if one obtains higher marks in Biology, then the first will be given preference over the second one.
- One who obtains higher marks in Chemistry will be given preference in the merit list
- If the second criteria is not valid, the candidate obtaining higher marks in Physics will be given higher rank in the merit list
- If none of the above holds true, the candidate who is older in age will be preferred more in the merit list than the younger one.
AIIMS Admission Procedure 2018
Once the counselling session is complete, candidates should report at the allotted institution to complete formalities of admission. Candidates should have to pay the admission fee. In case, if a candidate does not report at the allotted college in the given time then the seat will be given to the next candidate. It is compulsory to pay the admission fee to complete the AIIMS admission process. Candidates should also bring their documents/ certificate for verification.

Candidates have to report at the counselling centre along with the following documents in original.
- AIIMS 2018 Admit Card
- Category Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- AIIMS 2018 Call Letter
- Birth Certificate
- Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate
- Six Recent Passport Size Photographs
